Why an Application Fee? We charge an application fee for one reason
.we are looking for the prospective models that are serious about their career, and because the Models of Miami network is a closed network. And, by setting up a small application fee, we will actively review your pictures, and make the determination if you have a viable opportunity to move forward within our organization, let alone the modeling industry. What is the $19.95 monthly fee for?
After being accepted, all members are charged $19.95 per month to remain active on our site. Here’s what your monthly fee gets you:
* Access to our casting center, where you’ll find up-to-date job postings (so, for less than $20.00 a month, hopefully you’ll receive a paying job during the month)

* Access to Mr. Paul Palmero, our Director Of Operations, who will be personally working on your behalf to see if you can be placed with an agency within 120 days * The ability to work with certified Models of Miami photographers (within our network), and understand that you will not be ripped off or scammed (the photographers in our network agree to accept the fees associated with the shoots, thus assuring you that you’re receiving the right price for the right shots) * Access to educational workshops that will be set up by Mr. Paul Palmero * Our staff, working on your behalf, to work to place you with an agency

The bottom line is this simple – if, after 6 months, when your total investment has only been $130, you have not received a job offer through our site, or have yet to be placed with an agency, we fully expect you to cancel your membership if you don’t feel the value equals your investment. It is our hope that you received at least $130 in value, be it educational resources, portfolio assistance, high-end exposure, or other intangible value and exposure that our website provides, and we hope you will continue to be a member of our site for the long-term.

Models of Miami is proud to announce that Mr. Paul Palmero, an international icon in the modeling industry, will be Director of Operations for the Miami project. With over 25 years of experience as both a high fashion model and photographer, he is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant artists in the region.

His 15 years of success as a model began at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City where he studied acting. He was then asked to work on a motion picture in Rome, where he was subsequently discovered, and asked to appear in Harpers Bazaar magazine. He was photographed for many editorials, and became one of the first faces of the VAlentino campaign.

Realizing his talent for modeling, Mr. Palmero then moved back to New York City. While working with Yves St. Laurent in the sales division, Palmero was asked by famous artist Andy Warhol to appear in his magazine. Francesco Scavullo, one of the great fashion photographers of our time was one of the first to photograph Palmero in the United States.

A few years later, John Casablancas of Elite Models came to Manhattan in search of male models to help open his agency in Paris. Of the thousands who auditioned for Casablancas, Mr. Palmero was one of the twelve men that Casablancas personally selected. Mr. Palmero was instantly successful, becoming one of the top models in Paris. He then moved back to New York City, this time to grace the covers of GQ, Men’s Wear, and Viva international campaigns for Armani, Cerrutti, Lanvin, and Valentino. During this period, Palmero worked with many of the greatest photographers of the time, including Richard Avedon, Guy Bourdin, Albert Watson, and Alberto Rizzo.

The latter part of his career has focused on educating aspiring models, spending time behind the camera by opening Palmero Management, a career management company for actors and models, as well as once operating his own agency called Palmero Men Model Management. Mr. Palmero states, “Bringing the two sides of the camera together has helped me to develop models with values and style, thus creating an enhanced awareness of the industry’s overall expectations.”

We could not be happier to welcome Mr. Palmero to our team, and hope that his wealth of knowledge and insight will be an asset to all models working through our Talent Scout Division! With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Palmero will provide our clients and talent with the exceptional personal attention they deserve!

Not all models or accepted candidates will qualify for our Talent Scout Program. If we believe you do qualify, we will begin working exclusively on your behalf to place you with an agency. Our Talent Scout Program has the resources and the connection in Miami, New York, and LA to help place you with an agency. Because we limit our engagement to 120 days, this affords a reasonable time frame that won’t string the model along either, and provides you 4 months to work on your portfolio, or garner the additional experience necessary that will make you more appealing to our affiliated agencies.

Many websites ask for substantial upfront fees and also provide ‘so called’ guarantees that your pictures will be seen by hundreds of agencies. Well, we can tell you that the industry works substantially different than what you sometimes are told or hear, and you should never pay these large upfront fees. Granted, these sites may forward your pictures to 100 agencies, but your pictures will never be ‘seriously viewed’ or considered.

That’s the reason we have an ‘application process’ that allows us to weed through the submissions (and it only costs $10.00 instead of hundreds of dollars). We keep it real by only accepting the candidates that have three legitimate skill sets:
1)     Members with Talent: Acting, Dancing, Singing, or a legitimate skill set that will be able to utilize our Casting Center
2)     Promotional Models: The model that may not fit the profile of a ‘runway model’, but rather has the ability and look to get consistent promotional work through our Casting Center
3)     Agency Placement Potential: Models that may be signed through our Talent Scout Organization; the models that we feel have legitimate potential to become a Level 3 model (Signed with an Agency)
Again, keeping your costs low is our goal and setting the expectations from the beginning; we don’t want you to pay monthly fees unless we think we can actually earn revenue through our site (through our casting center or by being placed with an agency).
What’s the difference with our Talent Scout program? It’s our regional connections! That’s right, because we operate on a regional basis, we are developing firm industry relationships in each specific region. Models of Miami works with agencies, in a non-exclusive manner, and we are not forced to be exclusive to one or the other. That keeps our focus broad and it keeps the competitive juices flowing between agencies. We’re able to independently work without the constraints of an exclusive arrangement. Most importantly, we operate with the highest level of integrity and ethics.
Finally, our Talent Scout Program provides you the assurance that if accepted, your pictures truly will be viewed by our partnering agencies in the Miami region, and in New York and LA. We’re personalizing the process, and not embellishing the process. Unlike other companies, we can honestly tell you that you ‘won’t be seen by 100 agencies’ within the first 24 hours. You will, however, be clearly looked at an analyzed by our partnering agencies, and only those agencies that have specific needs that you may match. Will this be within 24 hours? No. Will it be within the first 30 to 60 days
yes
as long as you’re fully prepared to be looked at! Will you get signed with an agency within the first 30 days, probably not. But we’re giving you an up-front, honest timeframe by requesting 120 days to place you with an agency if you are selected for our Talent Scout Program.
Remember, there’s a big difference between simply being seen by an agency and being carefully looked at and considered by an agency. We don’t want you to just be ‘seen’
we want you to be carefully considered to fill an agency need. Models of Miami understands the true Life Cycle of a Model, and that’s why we’re here
we’re keeping it real. If everyone in this industry was honest and ethical, then that would eliminate the need for us!

We are branding our family of regional sites with the highest level of integrity and excellence, providing a safe, secure, controlled environment for all to work in. No other online company has embarked on such a clear, concise goal in stressing education, excellence, and exposure. If a photographer is listed on our site, then you can rest assured that he is the best of the best in that town! If a make-up artist or stylist is a ‘certified models of’ participant, you can rest assured that they are at the top of their field. The “Models Of” brand is stressing education and amenities, developing a clear and concise path that allows the model to eventually sign with an agency.

Focusing on the Level I and Level II models, our task is to align you with the best agencies to assure your career develops. And finally, there’s a local, regional website in every major metropolitan city that will provide oversight and integrity that all up-and-coming models can embrace and trust.

The online modeling industry is shattered with horror stories regarding the manner in which models pursue their career, and the scams they have fallen victim to. The model has little or no guidance in such a competitive, cut-throat industry, with the exception of uncovering information through agencies, message boards, or industry professionals. Aspiring models need clearly defined services that provide them a competitive edge in pursuing their career, as well as a safe and secure environment to network within. Our research also shows that the model is being diluted by the overabundance of web-sites that provide little or no value, and they are inundated with unscrupulous individuals that prey on their naivety.

What’s new, exciting, and different about our company? Our business model is like nothing ever embarked on in the modeling industry. Because we’ve decided to ‘regionalize’ the online modeling concept, our company will essentially be the heartbeat of the industry in that respective city, providing oversight, education , and the premiere resources needed for models to launch their careers. No other company has created a ‘regional family’ of sites the way our company intends on doing. We will conduct monthly educational workshops in each of our cities, bringing together subject matter experts to discuss the highs and lows of embarking on a modeling career. Specifically, what a model needs to look out for? How do they have to act when presenting themselves to an agency? How to conduct themselves at a casting? How should they present their portfolio? Because no other company has ever embarked on such a geographically dispersed, regional concept (both domestically and internationally), and no other company has tried to incorporate a controlled network of high-end professionals the way we are, our company will completely revolutionize the way the industry works together.
